NIKE DUNK HIGH “WU-TANG” - RETURNS FALL 2024
Nike has recently hinted at the return of the legendary “Wu-Tang” Dunk High, a sneaker that has reached near-mythical status among collectors and hip-hop enthusiasts. Originally released in 1999, these special edition sneakers pay tribute to the Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most influential hip-hop groups ever. The sneakers feature the band's signature colors, Black and Goldenrod, making them instantly recognizable.
The “Wu-Tang” Dunk High is distinguished by unique details. The iconic Wu-Tang logo adorns the lateral heel, while a custom tongue label adds to its exclusivity. Their rarity, with only 36 pairs originally made, a nod to the group's seminal debut album, “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers),” makes these sneakers even more coveted.
Emerging from Staten Island, New York, in the early 1990s, the Wu-Tang Clan revolutionized hip-hop with their gritty sound and unique lyrics. The group, consisting of RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa, released their debut album in 1993, which is hailed as one of the greatest hip-hop albums.
Over the years, the Wu-Tang Clan has built a massive legacy, influencing numerous artists and branching out into various ventures, including fashion. Their 1999 collaboration with Nike was a natural extension of their cultural impact, merging music and sneaker culture.
